The Folk
Ken and Jo Coley who run the Oystercatcher have come from a customer service background and are dedicated in the mission to make The Oystercatcher the best destination pub restaurant in Scotland. Sailing is the Coleys' main interest and what a perfect place to enjoy sailing.
Our kids, Sam (17) and Zac (15), who love the life in Otter Ferry, also help. Zac looks after burning of leaves and other outside chores, he has lost the use of speech at the moment, I am told it will come back once he leaves teenager hood, until then he says uugghh for most things. Sam is a bit of a spoff, 17 going on 50, does very well at School and runs a web business Samteq and Online in a Box.
Skye the dog is an excellent pub dog, loves everyone and hoovers chips. Also we have a new edition, Guinness a cute wee puppy who Skye doesn't like too much!
The Place
The location is World class, you have to see it to believe it. The inside is stunning too, you'll have to come and see us to appreciate it, real fires comfy sofas and great beer. For boats we offer free moorings a great pontoon, free wireless internet to the moorings and amazing shelter.
The food
We think it is great, we get the best we can and as locally as we can, see the menu.
We got our first review Restaurant review in the Scotsman 11th October 2008
We are in the 2010 CAMRA Good Pub Guide! You can't buy your way in to that one!
We are listed in Yachting Monthly as one of the top 40 sailing pubs in the UK. See it here at Yachting Monthly
Also we have a write up in the Spring Waitrose Magazine..Very nice!
Fancy a boat trip, see DC Marine DC Marine boat Trips
The Website
Put together by Samteq, we are really pleased with it, the best bit is that any change can be made straight away by me or staff with access rights.
